Problem solving, self-starter with over a decade of experience writing, debugging and publishing front--end codes. I bring the base of knowledge that I acquired during those years and now apply those techniques using modern tools. I’ve worked on small teams building and maintaining e-commerce sites, and I’ve also pushed code for individual features on projects for major clients that saw serious traffic.
This is a history of all the companies I've worked with since I started writing code.
Front End Web Developer
March 2014 to September 2014
The Queen Latifah Show : A Wordpress based site, with ZURB Foundation for styling and functionality. Developed new features (header, landing page templates) and fixed bugs, with a focus on a smooth responsive experience. Set up the site on Github for code versioning and worked on a new deployment process using Grunt for code packaging.
Front End Web Developer
October 2013 to March 2014
IHS re-design : A corporate site built using Twitter Bootstrap 3 for layout and functionality with SASS (Compass) for styling. Worked with designers to translate business requirements into site comps that leveraged Bootstrap’s UI components and Javascript plugins. Worked with another developer to complete front-end code, using Git for versioning.
Walmart.com - Home page : The Home page team is responsible for the Home/Local Store/Trending pages, and had a backlog of bugs and features that I was tasked with. The bugs list consisted of Markup/Styling issues, with a couple of features that involved Javascript/jQuery.
Walmart.com re-design - User-generated content : I worked with the team involved in the site re-design, and was tasked with the User-generated content sections (reviews/Q&A’s/comments). The features were developed on top of a Backbone/Thorax app, with Handlebars for templating and Stylus as our CSS pre-processor. We used Grunt for code packaging and to spin up a server for local development. This project was coordinated between multiple teams of 8-10 developers, so we used Git for code versioning.
Front End Web Developer
March 2013 to August 2013
Marketing & Testing - Landing pages : My main responsibility was developing landing pages for all of their product sites. These pages were then A/B tested using Adobe Test and Target. To maintain a rapid release schedule, all page options were initially built using plain HTML/CSS/Javascript. Once tested, the winning version was then pulled into the Demandware ecommerce platform, and coded using the proprietary scripting language, DMS Script.

Lexus “Check-In For Charity” Facebook Application : The Facebook App was built to promote Lexus’ December Sales Event, and help raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America by donating money for every check-in a user made within the app. We used the Codeigniter framework, and I built the views on-top of Twitter Bootstrap. The check-in data was pulled in from the Facebook Places & Foursquare APIs, and we also used the Bing Maps API to create a custom map to visualize the check-ins. The promotion was a huge success and met its goal just over a week after being launched.
Lexus.com Performance page : The Performance page was being updated as part of a full site redesign. I wrote the markup to hook into the responsive framework that Team One had built in-house. It’s powered by CSS media queries and Javascript initialized by break-point. The JS was written using the modular design pattern so that any functionality may be inherited if desired. All videos are served via the Brightcove API. I was also tasked with Omniture integration that tracks visitor behavior granularly with custom event handlers for all user actions.

Marketing Development : I was responsible for developing the company corporate website, a static HTML5 site. I developed the company blog themes, using Wordpress and eventually Tumblr. I worked with the email team, coding HTML/CSS email templates and setting up the campaigns in MailChimp, Responsys, or ExactTarget. I also developed landing pages, which were A/B tested using a system built in-house for the marketing department.

Ruby Front-End Integration : I was responsible for updating the company website with new features and UI elements. These were coded using HTML/CSS/Javascript, with Ruby on Rails on the back-end. I worked with product managers and back-end developers to plan out a new version of Fitorbit.com and I was the front-end dev on a co-branded version of Fitorbit.com.

Fashion City - Facebook game : I spent the majority of my time refactoring and improving the JS framework that was being used to connect our game with the Facebook API. Javascript was used to pass data back/forth from our MySQL database and the Unity game engine, in addition to handling Open Graph data transfer. I was also tasked with setting up A/B testing for landing pages and managed the company blog (WordPress) and message board (vBulletin).

UI/UX Development and Site Maintainence : Company website page and feature updates. In addition to intermittent, total site-wide re-designs. Used a combination of XHTML/CSS/Javascript(jQuery) to bring design comps from flat PSDs to fully functioning, pixel-perfect web pages. CMS Template development and page updates using the Typo3 framework. Developed the UI and front-end code for a modular product search tool, allowing users to search for products by many different attributes and with a focus on range over specific value. Worked with the back-end development team to tie the form together with the product database. Coded AJAX-powered content syndication widgets, bringing our name and product information database to thousands of beauty blogger websites, extending our company reach. Streamlined recurring tasks by creating bulletproof markup and CSS templates for use by the front-end team, while working with the design team to create standards and guidelines for designs, to minimize the amount of back and forth between teams. Improved page load time across the site by trimming down the amount of network calls per page. Re-factored markup/CSS, added image lazy-loading, and image sprites where necessary. Re-wrote Javascript site-wide using the quickest DOM traversal techniques possible. Minor back-end PHP development, such as contact form processing and file upload from a web form. Which were then stored on the server in a MYSQL database.
